Ted & Kate | Wedding
They kept a journal together since they started dating on February 14, 2009. It’s a record of their love and their letters to one another full of their hopes and prayers for the future, as well as many other little inside jokes. Now, how sweet is that?! That’s just a small fraction of how adorable this couple truly is. Everything about this wedding had meaning or importance. From Kate’s hometown church where her father is the pastor down to the smallest favor. I loved how Ted and Kate put so much thought into every last detail, it truly showed!
Thank you Ted and Kate for sharing your day with us, we wish you a lifetime of happiness!

the journal!

Kate gave all of her girls these beautiful earrings from Anthropologie…. I love this store! ![]()

Their Unity Music was a duet of them playing together, Ted on the guitar and Kate on the harp.

Kate’s Dad opened with a blessing.

Married!

I loved the light right here..

These two are SOOO in love…

This little guy is the perfect blend of his parents. He belongs to some dear friends of ours, Sky and Ashley… we go way back. Their wedding was actually the first wedding I’ve ever photographed! Thanks for having faith in me guys..!

Clark Family
Meet the Clark Family.
It’s always such a honor when I’m asked to photograph a family. I’ve known Kristen for many years now. I first photographed her kids when they were brand new so I was totally psyched when Kristen wanted to schedule a Family Session because I haven’t seen her boys since they were little. She’s a busy Mom working full time as a Data Network Engineer at the Communications Company I work for while raising two sweet little boys, William and Cooper.. she definitely has her hands full! So, it’s a good thing she has a pretty amazing husband, Eric to help with the juggling act.
And, I always like to make each session unique and personal to each individual client so I tell them to bring any thing that has meaning or importance with them. I just loved all the things Kristen brought. You’ll see..so fun!
We started at the studio, this was the first shot of the day… they were all smiles and ready to go, I loved it!

Will is such a good big brother

Little Cooper is so adorable..

And I love it that they brought this quilt that Eric’s Grandmother made…

They are HUGE Michigan Fans! So of course we had to get a few shots in their Michigan gear.

I love this little tractor Kristen brought. Now that’s Pure Michigan!

Ted & Kate: Engagement
A few weeks ago Joe and I had the pleasure of spending the afternoon with a super sweet couple. Meet Ted and Kate. They both currently live in Chicago but are planning to get married in Kate’s home town here in Hudsonville, MI at Grace Community Church where her dad is the pastor. Kate booked me over the phone so we didn’t get the opportunity to meet until their engagement session. We immediately clicked! We had so much fun hanging out with these two… Kate wanted to get some shots at the Grand Rapids Public Museum so we started there then we headed downtown to a few urban locations.
Thanks you two for such a great afternoon! Enjoy a few of our favorites!

Spencer & Julie: Engagement
Wow! It’s been a long time since I’ve blogged… I must admit, I’m a horrible blogger.
I’m hoping that will all soon change because I now have some new super cool branding templates which have totally streamlined the blogging process! I owe it all to a friend and colleague of mine, Dustin Francis. He is a photographer based out of Ann Arbor, MI who not only created these sleek, simple, and easy to use blog templates, but has also created some pretty amazing sharpening actions for Photoshop CS which I use on a daily basis.
Thanks so much Dustin! Now for some fun pic’s of Spencer and Julie’s Engagement session. Julie is our third “Devine” bride. We first met the Devine family back in 2004 while shooting her cousin Adelaide’s wedding. It’s been so much fun getting to know this family over the years. These two are planning a fall wedding at St Cecilia Music Center and we can’t wait- we love that venue! Thanks you guys for such a fun day.

March 17, 2010 - 9:21 am - I love me some snuggly downtown shots! ADORABLE!! So glad you are saving time with Dustin's actions! They rock and so do you:)
March 16, 2010 - 12:49 pm - Love these. Ummm Dustin hasn't come to my rescue yet. I'll have to give him a shout.
March 15, 2010 - 11:01 pm - I love how bundled up they are...it's really cute :) Glad you are enjoying the actions...here's to spending less time on stuff! I really love the second to last shot.
